 The grants awarded by the fund aim to contribute to the international profile of UM. The grant should contribute directly to the research and educational activities undertaken by the university, the faculty, the school or the department. Securing a financial contribution from the department, school or faculty is highly recommended. Note that this grant may also be used to partly finance a trip to your previewed host in case you are working on a Rubicon or Marie Curie Individual Fellowship application.

This supports projects that lay the foundations for radically new future technologies of any kind from visionary interdisciplinary collaborations that dissolve the traditional boundaries between sciences and disciplines, including the social sciences and humanities. Proposals may take the form of research and innovation actions, which require participation by at least three legal entities; each established in a different EU member state or Horizon 2020 associated country. Legal entities established in a third country, who secure their own funding, may be included in the consortia.

ZonMW BeNeFit National 3000 k€ 08-05-2018 Willem Wolters

The aim of the call is to provide funding for clinical trials that compare the effectiveness of existing health care interventions that are already in use in a given indication, e.g. comparisons between two medications, medical therapy versus surgery, trials investigating optimal timing of surgery etc. The research should be pragmatic and practice-oriented. Each BeneFIT Trial should be of a non-commercial nature. The different treatment options that are compared in a BeNeFIT Trial should concern treatments that are (or have the potential of being) reimbursed by health care payers in Belgium and The Netherlands.
