The Research Office enables projects which empower the strategy of the Maastricht UMC+: Healthy Living. The projects and initiatives are executed in close cooperation with researchers, clinicians and operational staff of the Maastricht UMC+.

Our team is experienced in initiating and executing cross-organisational and interdisciplinary projects and initiatives. Our activities comprise:

The Chemelot Institute for Science & Technology (InSciTe) is a public-private institute for biomedical materials and biobased materials to make materials smarter. From its base in the south of the Netherlands, Chemelot InSciTe rises to the challenges facing our world today: it develops solutions for the sustainable health of an ageing population and for the sustainable production of chemicals and materials.

The Kennis-As connects knowledge, expertise and capital, with the aim of converting ideas and plans into concrete projects. Together, the three knowledge partners are investing a total of €165 million in the programme.

Within the programme Limburg Invests in its Knowledge Economy (LINK) two new  institutes have been established: the Maastricht MultiModal Molecular Imaging Institute (M4I) and the Institute for Technology-Inspired Regenerative Medicine (MERLN).

With support of the Province of Limburg, the Maastricht Centre for Systems Biology (MaCSBio) has been founded. MaCSBio facilitates the integration of relevant biological data from different empirical domains using mathematical multi-scale modelling approaches.

Mosae Vita aims to create an environment in which the public and care providers engage with health care and are involved in the development of innovative products and services that help people lead a consciously healthy life.

Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centers (NFU)

 

The Parelsnoer Institute is a unique partnership between the eight University Medical Centres in the Netherlands. The initiative gathers clinical data and biomaterials from all the partners for specific diseases, the so called pearls (in Dutch: parels).

International

 

In 2008 Maastricht UMC+ started to explore the possibilities for research collaboration with Indian institutes. At this moment we run about 20 active collaborations with various (academic, medical, industrial) partners.

EIT Health is one of the largest healthcare initiatives worldwide, including 140 leading organisations. Its goal is to sustainably advance the foundations of healthcare and thus promote the future conditions for healthier living and wellbeing of people across Europe.
